Howdy! It's been a while. Here's an update addressing a lot of bugs and issues found in the last demo; I intend to continue work on this game in earnest soon!
- - Gameplay - vz lace module no longer lets you clip into solid objects
- - Gameplay - stuck ships should automatically teleport out; it's still not perfect, but it does the trick
- - Gameplay - warp navigation points shouldn't overlap as badly now
- - Station menus - fixed 'exit equip anything' glitch
- - Performance - fixed vignette objects lingering and causing tons of lag
- - Performance - optimized a bunch of functions and render calls behind the scenes
- - Performance - bloom effects are now primarily rendered through gamemaker's particle systems
- - Navigation - location data now properly resets on death or return to menu; no more unintended starting in Cheyenne
- - Demo difficulty - difficulty now properly resets on death or return to menu; no more high difficulty missions at the start of a run
- - Demo difficulty - difficulty ramps up a little more slowly, resulting in fewer total enemies with a hard cap of 15 in a single mission. good luck!
- - AI pathfinding - tightened up a few navmeshes; i'll have to go over navigation more in the future to improve the algorithms
- - AI responsiveness - enemies will now aggro if attacked by the player at a distance
- - Station menus - repairing your ship is now as costly as intended
- - Station menus - grid menus should no longer crash due to array out-of-bounds errors
- - Resolution - fixed 'camera being in the far lands' glitch caused by fullscreen alt-tabbing
- - Resolution - fixed game crash when alt-tabbing when paused and in fullscreen
